Srinagar, Apr 26 (KNO): Continuing its efforts to root out drug menace from society, Police on Saturday said to have arrested two drug peddlers in Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
“A police team from Police Station Sopore and PP Fruit Mandi, intercepted a vehicle (Load Carrier) bearing registration number JK05M-9529 at Vijbal crossing with two persons on board. During the search, 203 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from their possession. The accused has been identified as Mohsin Manzoor Soliha and a lady (name withheld), both residents of Arampora Baramulla,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 66/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been initiated.
“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact the nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law,” police said—(KNO)
